Faith, Friends and Fun in the Son...Frontier Camp

A week after getting home from Red River we packed Mason back up and sent him with some of his friends to sleep away camp for the first time ever!! I was excited for him and nervous all at the same time but boy did he end up having a BLAST!! Frontier camp is the name and extra super FUN was the game!! He got to woodwork, wake board, play some awesome chicken chasing sports, shoot a few rifles (supervised of course), played some pit ball, roasted hot dogs over a camp fire, learned about the big man upstairs, had some serious dance parties, and got to bunk with some super awesome buddies who will hopefully become life long friends!! He loved it so much we are already signed up to return next summer (and I am thinking we will be for many more summers to come). Thank you Frontier Camp for taking care of my baby and showing him a GREAT time!!

Pre-camp party fun with the Bailey's and the Fishers!!

Drop off at camp!

The Crew!! Elli, Caden, James, Mason, Abigail and Jack

Not only did we get our kids matching shirts but the moms got in on the fun too!

We had to pick the kids up early on Saturday morning so the Fisher's, LeRouax's and Stoeckel's had a camp night at the Bar S Ranch in Palestine, TX!! This was so much fun that we too are already booked again for next year!!

Red River

Right after school let out we took a family trip to the family cabin in Red River! Added bonus was that our good friends and neighbors the Atkinson's came with us!! It was perfect b/c not only did the kids have playmates but the adults had playmates as well.

We hiked, explored, built "forts", read books, summer tubed, rode the ski lift, gambled (no money involved of course), roasted, climbed, shot bb's, shopped and just had a GOOD OL TIME!!
Stay awesome Red River!! We will see ya next year!

A celebration 3 yrs in the making

Last night we finally got to celebrate Derrek getting his MBA with his family and more close friends! As is the tradition for achieving a degree of higher learning we did the Chef's table at Brennan's! If you have never done this before it is AH-MAZING!! You are seated at a table IN THE KITCHEN of the restaurant so that you can see and be right in the thick of everything that is going on. You get a tour of the kitchen and get to help cook with the chefs a little bit too. We had 6 courses with the wine pairings and it was phenomenal! I highly recommend doing this at least once!! Huge thanks to all who celebrated with us and of course HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to my sweet husband!!
